    AFB and saving a queen.

Yes, but i do believe in what he said here. FINMAN, But I have seen often, how queen sellers lie about their queens. No shame what they do. I have been doing hard selectively culling and breeding AMM for about 20 years and there is a number of breeders’ in the country that i would be happy to...

    AFB and saving a queen.

First of all let me categorically tell you that i (99%) do not have or so far never had AFB and am not trying to conceal it. I have witnessed it on two occasions in apiaries and had the sad job of helping to burn their hives. In one instance we had 17 stacked up for burning. One of these...

    AFB and saving a queen.

If you were to get cross contamination how quick would you see it in the brood and then how long before you could say the colony was in the clear.

    AFB and saving a queen.

thankfully so far i have never had American Fowl Brood but i am aware that it could pop up at anystage. So here is a question that has popped into my head as i start thinking of my first spring inspections when i go looking for the queen and an inspection of the brood for disease. Say i come...

    Hive records in poly roof

totally agree. Nucs are been changed into hives and hives back into nucs and the roof records would never remain constant with the occupants of the hive.

    Hive records in poly roof

i have all hive notes on the thickest waperproof paper that is used for water paints under the roof. I then have another one for each apairy which tells me what i need to bring for the next inspection and what hives need the most attention. This one i keep over the sunviser of the car or if its...

cut out from ceiling went wrong

I got called out today to remove bees from a flat roof extension that was been reroofed as it was rotten and leaking and the rest of the house was also been completely refurbished. I removed the last plaster slab that they had left in place when they had discovered the bees. There was a good...

    Clipping and marking queens

Utter stupidity, is a little bit on the strong side.Fortunately or unfortunately I have about 100 stocks to inspect and any time I come across a queen that is not marked, then record's are checked and then she gets clipped and marked. I don't see the big issue and the procedure takes about 30...

    Very bad temperament Bees!!

every think you did was perfect, except for making nucs from an evil hive. Join the nucs up back up with the other hives and if you want to increase then in a few weeks you will have natural good queen cells from a quite queen. I have so far killed 6 queen that I dis not like due to yellow band...
