    strange hardly any activity in my part of Norfolk... a few scout bees around an empty hive in my garden the first sign of anything.

    checked my nucs today - 2 with new queens accepted 4 with queens laying well two of them will need hiving soon as this rate. Quite a happy bunny :)

    Hi Ben Bee Quick works well have used it in chimnies and an air brick last Friday which was having lots of interest from scout bees... worked a treat. I tend to spray the area but on Friday as I could access from inside via a vent so sprayed some bits of cloth with Bee Quick and inserted them...

    you can use another crow or magpie in a Larsen trap... but follow the best practice guidelines! the bird to be caught (crow or magpie) reacts to the caged interloper in their territory... to use any other type of bird as 'bait' is strictly illegal...

    Yep, realising that!I have the Haynes manual. Lurching from crisis to crisis is not the best approach.I'll not to plague you with anymore questions. Thanks for the help its been very useful. Im going to tackle this head on tomorrow and hopefully salvage something from the situation. keep at it...
