    Bees in a tree

You could have a more experienced bee keeper with your local club come out and help extract them. Some times it is a free service, and other times depending on the difficulty level of the extraction it could have a cost associated with it. Out of curiosity how many feet off the ground is this hive?

How are vapers getting on this spring?

Are there any less invasive ways to treat the hive for varoa other than chemical treatments? For example any highly effective natural remedies?

    Bees in South Carolina

Why wouldn't they order bees to fill the hives, to help polinate their crops?

When will my Bees swarm ?

The best way to avoid swarming from a nuc is to give them a more suitable hive. Example a empty langstroth hive with an ample food source will often satisfy them. Keeping them in the nuc box presents a host of issues (a) they do not have a lot of room to produce brood, (b) they don't have enough...

Drones pupae on the landing board

As recently stated drones (male bees) are expendable. They tend to sacrifice them first, especially if there isn't a virgin queen. So unless you suspect diseases I wouldn't be too concerned. The chill factor could play into it, but if that were the culprit I would expect workers, guard bees, and...

Rio off britain - bbc 1

Our local bee club promotes raw honey, because the health benefits are there. Much of what you'll find at supermarkets will be greatly diminished and not have anywhere near the health benefits.

    Wot Fun!

It makes me wonder how far away they can pick up on a source of honey, not nectar or pollen being there.

Cut Out - What do I need

    feeling deflated!

I sympathize with you, my parents picked up my cousins project hive when she abandoned it to leave to California. They did not really know everything that needed to be done to prepare it for winter at the time, and despite having 80 to 90 pounds of rabbit brush honey produced to feed on, they...

    Queencells in my introduction nuc

If you don't remove the queen cells they'll probably replace her with a new virgin queen. If you don't want this you'll need to remove the queen cells promptly.

Wax Moth - destroy or tolerate ?

I was told wax moths hate sun light. If your hive is in a sunny area you're less likely to have problems with them.

Avon 'Skin so Soft' Does it work???

Not a lot that detours the bees once you've angered them. Their going to look for a place to sting and if they can't find one then they'll move on.

    This cold weather...

Okay I have a few questions. (1) what does AS mean? (2) when does the warm weather generally start for you in the UK and France?, because here we start warming up in April and we are lucky enough that some autumns it doesn't get down to freezing until the middle of October.
