Hi guys, Just cleaned up some super frames that had crystallised osr in but I want to sterilise them as best I can before returning them to the hive. They have been sat in the shed all winter so could have had anything crawling over them Any advice appreciated

I have 10 brood frames that are fully capped. My thinking was, to get more bees to help with overwintering, I would give them an empty super and let the queen lay as much as she wants. I would then remove this super when the weather starts becoming cold to reduce the space.

I can't honest believe that I'm reading the OP post!! Allergic or not, I would not have stood there and allowed them to sting me 20 times. Once is bad enough but a person that isn't allergic that receives 20 stings is putting their life at risk.

plenty of drones up here in the northwest. you can either leave them to it as at the end of the day. if it dont work out, you could combine with another colony after killing new queen and split again next year
