Unfortunately I don't know. He is selling all his stuff and hadnt worked with his bees or equipment in over two years. I was hoping that someone could tell me what to look for as to warning signs!

I recently acquired some boxes and frames that have been sitting up a while. What is the best way to clean them, and what should I be looking for in signs of alert?

I got my second swarm call within a week. I got my things together and headed that way. Arrived at the location got my box out and was able to cut the small limb the bees was hanging and shake them right into the box!! I then left the box till dark and return to gather a full swarm. I eased back over to the old sight and there was a group of bees there, but the hive is also still full of bees as well. They seem to be orienting theirselves and working. At least that's what appears to be happening. I will keep watching them and keep you posted.

I moved them at night so I hope I got most of them.

I'm in Louisiana and it is in the 80s here, we've had a lot of rain in my area. I'm hoping to gain permission from a farmer soon to put them on his farm.

The property was flooding, so I really had no choice. It's two strong hives, hopefully they can make the transition , but your right about being agitated!!! Lol

It was a case where I had to move them, I covered the entrance when I moved them, then opened it back up when I had them in their new location.

I moved two hives about an eight of a mile. How long will it take for the bees to get orientated with their new location?

Does anyone know if old beeswax would be safe to use in lip balm making or lotion making?

I have two hives that seemed really aggressive, even a small inspection would lead to the bees being very upset with me!!! Then I went another beekeeper to inspect his hives and the same thing happened. The bees went for me and not him. Can anyone explain this.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used the EZ plastic frames with plastic foundation? I was wanting to use it in some new hives i'm planning on getting in the spring. I would appreciate any info good or bad. Thank you.
