That's lovely they are interested. It's a great way to get some peaceful quality time with them away from electronics

Fingers crossed they all get through the next month or so. The next few days are a little worrying. Up to now they all seem to be doing well.

Father and Daughter beekeepers from West Sussex

Yes they have been great. Poppy had a little friend that want to come over and they were perfect. It was lovely to see Poppy share her passion. That would be great. I wouldn't say no to a nice calm queen or 2 if you have some for sale. I insist on paying for them though now we are settled and...

Father and Daughter beekeepers from West Sussex

Hi Ian. Really well thanks. Went to see them last week and there were a few bees flying around. Lifted the lid off a gave them a couple of pots of fondant and plenty of bees in there. Poppy chose to put another brood box on them so she can split them in the spring and they filled up both boxes...

    Best place to get stung?

I always seem to get stung on the neck. I have no idea why . I thought it might be because I wore aftershave so stopped wearing it and still get stung.

Grazon, Is it safe for bees

Hi All, Someone very close to our bees is planning on spraying Grazon weed killer. They want to spray on the other side of our fence. Has anyone used this close to bees and if so did it have an affect at all? Many thanks Lee

    Removing paint from hive

Hi All, We have been given an old WBC hive that has been painted over multiple times. We would like to get it back to looking somewhat like its best. We have tried sanding it down by hand but it is taking forever. Is there any type of paint remover we could use? Many thanks Lee

    Poppy's Hive

Hi @Boston Bees . It has been incredible the donations that have been made. We really are gobsmacked and hugely grateful. I wouldn't really call it a profit though. Most of this money will be spent on buying materials to fence off a small area and security that we shouldn't have to worry about...
