I have just inserted a new super on my brood and a half as first one full and capped. ]
A little unsure whether i shouild sit on top of full one or underneath.
I have currently placed it on top of full one.]please advice

Thanks

place the new one on top of the BB and the old one on top of your new super.

Just one question, you say brood and a half, what is capped brood or honey? Only asking because you don't mention an excluder.
Otherwise, same as REDWOOD.

.
If one super is capped, where are nectar stores.
How much honey have brood boxes?

Just to qualify the above, finman is trying to say that you are a bit late adding another super, you should always have empty super cells for the bees to bring in nectar and evaporate the water off. If your supers are all full then all they can use is brood cells. That leaves less space for the queen to lay and before you know it the queen is thinking that she has loads of stores, no room to lay and the only thing to do is to swarm! If you can keep on top of the 'super' situation then you lessen the chances of swarms and of course get more honey!
Best of luck
E
