A lovely sunnny day today - 9 degrees
Two of my hives are looking like they are busy - a few bees around the entrance and a few flying. The other two however are very quiet.
Last time I hefted the hives (in October) they all felt like they were nailed down to the stand (an expression I once read here that seemed to say it well) But today, two of the hives are noticeably lighter. Two are heavy, two are relatively light.
I have perspex crown boards on all hives - the two lighter hives have a small cluster of bees at the top. The two heavy hives have very few bees visible.
Maybe there has been some robbing going on? Should I feed the two lighter hives? If so, with what? Syrup? I also have some candipolline gold...
Please help!
