Recieved a call from a farmer who had a swarm and needed it moving.
The initial swarm was on the side of a trailor in the farm yard and the farm hands refused to use the trailor in fear.
By the time i had arrived later that evening the initial swarm had halved, fifty yards away was the other half. I presumed this is wher the queen was so i collected this up from the grass on the floor they were on, then i collected as many as i could from the trailor, placed into the nuk and returned home.
The following day the farmer says, theres still a lot here on the trailor but the orther side now. Advising that they were probably the residule of the original swarm and these will either perish or return back to their old home.
Long story short, i ended up returning with another nuk and quiet easily swept them in.
Now i have 2 nuks full, will the bees amalgamate or not ...????
thanks...... Martyn.
