The entrance to the Thornes polynuc is massive. can I pin a mouse guard over it to reduce the chance of robbing? Also and very importantly as my Queen is not emerged yet can she get in and out through a mouseguard?

Are they being robbed?
If not why add one?
Mouse guards (the ones with small round holes) will probably stop a queen getting through...but don't quote me on that.
If you want to reduce entrance size why not use a bit of foam or whatever to leave a smaller exit/entrance?

Define massive please..diameter dimensions so to speak..

I think you’re talking about the Thornes Everynuc - not Polynuc.

Yes, the entrance is huge. As already suggested, I reduce it with foam, but you can easily make a bespoke reducer.

I wouldn’t use a mouse guard though. It will hinder the bees’ ability to bring pollen home. I think some of it will fall off as they crawl through the guard.
