I do myself the roofs and floors to polyhives. No need to discuss what is best material or structure it us important that I can keep clean surfaces and I can sterilize them.

I have bever heard that somebody uses as insulation material polycarbonate or plywood. By further more, they are very expencive materials, and extremely far from best.

Nowadays you can buy proper materials which are meant for insulation.

I'm unsure what to do as well Briggs. The lack of bee space with the clear plastic one i didn't think was a problem as they can just go below the super. What concerned me was that there is no holes to feed fondant through if necessary. ...

Just drill a hole in it!
