quite a lot now
anybody know what this tree is? plenty of light lemon coloured pollen coming off it. Buzzing with activity. The leaves are like a Camilla but lighter coloured. Large and glossy.

not sure if getting any nectar.

It looks a bit like a very large Portuguese laurel......not sure though

Have you tried the Apps that identify plants with a photo, you have flowers and leaves so you should get a good suggestion, I find that if they don't get it right first time, the second or third suggestion will be right.

I too would be interested in a definite identification. The leaves look like Laurel but surely the flowers should be more in a cylindrical shape not pyramid type?

I think Millet got to identifying it as a Privet before Finman.
But what the 'ell.

at first I thought it was common privet but it is more a tree than a bush. The trunk is scaly like an Eucalyptus and the flowers are wrong. The leaves also are larger and waxy.

If anyone wants a tree the bees love this time of year then this is the plant to get. Loads of pollen and I suppose nectar coming off it.

Thanks for the replies.
