Hi Rab,

Thank you for the advice, i have just put an empty super on top of the crown board and put some cotton insulation blankets in there, so hopefully that will keep them a bit warmer, thanks again.

Looks very low down.

I like the tops of the brood frames to be at the level of my hands outstretched.
Since that is what you will need to inspect weekly and spend most time with, you will either get a bad back bending down, or you'll have to kneel down.

Why have you put an empty super above the crown board?
 
Hi rab
To give them some top insulation as i dont yet have a dummy board, i filled it with a blanket thought this might help.
