I know mice can flatten themselves to get through cracks and such but how smaller slot can they get through? Reason is I put a tunnel entrance on earlier in the season it's 100mm wide and 9mm high. Is it likely they could get through that?

I would say you're safe with that gap. JMB showed details of his slant on an underfloor entrance that has a 8/9mm gap and he asserts that mice can't get through the entrance (so no mouse guards) - see http://www.beekeepingforum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=552793&highlight=underfloor+entrance#post552793

I think with the JBM et al underfloor entrance, it is not just the narrowness(?) of the gap but also that the mouse has to negotiate a sharp angle to get through. Its the combination of narrowosity and the sharpness of the turn that defeats them.
