Does anyone know if there is a problem with the MDBKA website? I've sent a couple of emails and used their 'contact us' form, but no one has got back to me.

"Wrong" in the sense that website introduction pages went out in the 90s? Or that nobody checked the spelling?

Not so much the web site, but it's possible that emails are not being forwarded correctly or getting rejected as spam somewhere. More likely is that most people running associations have other jobs to do. How much urgency anyone attaches to emails will vary, many see it as like a stamp with turn round in a week or two. Or they assume someone else is dealing with it if you copy in several people. If they have a regular session at an association apiary, it's often more direct to turn up and either speak to someone who deals with membership or get a phone number.
