ive had a couple of queens mated recently and wondering, if put into a stong nuc, is it too late to split for overwintered nucs?

What about black girls on windy Hills but with plenty of ivy at 450 metres. Can only really answer for my area but I’ve made plenty and you can certainly do it later than most think. You’re fine now for sure, I’ve simply gone into single box hives and split into 2 Nucs even into October. Mid late September is quite normal. If your intending on being a serious beek you’ll have to try and find out. I’d suggest finding a decent warm/sheltered site that has access to ample late sources of food like balsam heather and ivy, and I’d put ivy at the top of the list. Late pollen is all important!! You can add syrup easily enough.
