Had a slight problem with PC. Started last week,

Mouse was jerky. Screen scroll was not smooth and pages bit slow to load.

Re-booted. Ok for time then started again.
Then it was OK for a day. Then back.
Then OK for a little while.
Think I have now solved it.

Took a guess after noticing all the dust on the vents of the power unit,,, I cleaned that off and then as there was also muck in the processor fan, I poked a small screwdriver between blades of fan on processor and dug out a load of crap from the fins...

So far, its been OK.
It's certainly quicker. Was getting too hot....
Wonder how many people this had happended to and they have bought a new PC because the man in the shop told them it would cost too much to repair.

It's amazing just how much fluff and crud can get stuffed between the vanes of the cpu heatsink. Regular six monthly job along with cleaning the fans etc. as the box runs 24x7 in a domestic setting.

I did once think of putting a vacuum bag on the back.
