Okay you lot - I've been told that the first priority of a project manager is to get someone else to do the work for you, so, as I'm supposed to be out here as a project manager, a little challenge.
Bees is only a part of my remit out here. I'm here to help the orphanage and specifically to look at setting up a project encompassing the orchards and vegetable gardens, a 'garden centre' the construction of which has nearly been completed by Miles the mad old Australian. The first 'easy fix I'm loking at is utilising nearly half an acre of oneof the peach orchard to leave their indigenous chickens range freely, so we need to look at an easily constructed moveable chicken 'shelter' I'm thinking about five or six feet long maybe four wide, sloping roof which lifts to get at the nest boxes inside - no need for a floor I don't think as there's no foxes around here (one reason that SWMBO is happy that I won't refuse to come back!) and fairly light and portable. Most accessible material around here is corrugated sheets and the trees will afford shade from the sun. Just thought I'd pass the buck as drawing on a netbook is a bit time consuming and this project is an extra that I've been asked to look over.
First prize is a free beekeeping holiday in Leribe district lesotho - you only have to pay your flight over and find accommodation
