Hi to all borrowed some old frames from a friend that comes in to our works and a brood box. We have a well established colony in the roof space in our works that I hope to set up on top of the roof eventually to hopefully catch the first swarm.

In the meantime over the weekend I have put the box and a few of the frames along with my own box in the location that my hive will stay. Over the course of the weekend there has been a constant flow of bees 20-30 in and out all weekend. I presume these are just pinching the old bits of honey and pollen left in there. Or could there be more to this? Any thoughts welcome again hi and thanks to all

Hi, could be bees robbing the combs but at this time of year robbing unlikely. I have boxes of combs with stores in near my hives with no interest been taken. Could well be scouts looking for a new home. Either is a possibility

No interest in bait boxes here. I suspect there will be soon. In fact, next warm spell after this week is my guess.

You can only ever be sure after dark! During the day a bait box can look like a working hive but at night it will be ....empty!
