I agree, I would have put the supports at 1/4 space and had a cantilever. Nice job tho.

On a more serious note, how level are the hives? Hard to tell with the photo. They look a bit slopey....

I like the new layout, but those wobbly bricks worry me: summertime nudge and one falls out...

thanks......theyre all level....and compressed the ground where the bricks are stacked...wood is quite hefty and all seems ok...stood in middle of all of these and kicked at stacks of bricks and seemed ok...certainly as secure as the pallets which were there and rotting into the ground on the bottom..plus a better working height etc

its an eco area based around a lake from an old brick works hence reclaiming the bricks!

Ideally for the 4 x 2 span I would not have it greater then 1.2m without support.
