    The main reason to risk it is because I have customers who like cut comb and I'd rather it was from the free comb without any foundation in it. With the weather as it is at the moment it might be the only honey we take off the hives. I've cut some to keep as cut comb but thought I might freeze...

    Has anyone extracted honey yet??

    We were one frame short when we added a super and forgot to go back and make one up - the bees made some free comb and so I removed it at the weekend and extracted about 6oz of honey - does that count?

    As I've said on another thread I wish experienced beekeepers would put their energies into making sure that new keepers or would be keepers have the information they need, into helping to ensure that there are enough places on beginners courses, into becoming mentors instead of rubbishing...

    Comparing an Eglu to a wendy house just shows ignorance and a lack of research - when wendy houses are made with twin wall construction then maybe prices will be comparable? The only people who compare the cost of an Eglu to a wooden coop are those who have never seen an Eglu or compared it...
