    MAQS - Formic Pro

It's applied inside the hive, so the temperature inside the hive regulates the evaporation. Of course it's possible to f**k things up. But I myself have never lost no queen

    MAQS - Formic Pro

In order to kill bees with formic acid you have to overdose at high temperatures, why would anyone do that

    MAQS - Formic Pro

Temperature is important, and an experienced beekeeper understand that, if using formic acid. A beekeeper is used to look at the weather and draw conclusions. I have never had any problems. And I am not even an experienced beekeeper, only 10+ years. It's probably a beekeeping myth, losing...

    What is happening in Sweden?

In the end it's nearly always advertising for some business of some sort, while using this near scientific gibberish. Many like this, they don't understand it, but they think it sounds true, so it must be true.

    What is happening in Sweden?

It's more worrying that you believe it...... "Sweden killing"

    The amazing Dr Ramsay

Yes, that's because its like a TED talk, and designed mostly for non beekeepers to be impressed by it.

    MAQS - Formic Pro

And instructions from the manufacturer can be useful, but in this case, when they charge 6 pounds for something you can get for far less than a pound, I would rather read what other beekeepers are saying.

    MAQS - Formic Pro

All treatment methods have to be fine-tuned by the beekeeper

    MAQS - Formic Pro

Yes, every generation of MAQS is Formic acid. So when I buy 20 liter 80% formic acid, it's worth a fortune, but costs nothing.

Cost of beekeeping and poly nucs

Finman please, change the quote, I didn't write that

Cost of beekeeping and poly nucs

Build up is one thing, overwintering another. Poly is excellent in spring and hot days in summer, but not necessary for overwintering, that's all I say. After 1987 is not always. Winter sugar or total amount of sugar from september to april?

Cost of beekeeping and poly nucs

I like poly hives, I have them, but about overwintering..... that's a common misconception, there's no difference between wood and poly. Healthy bees have no problem at all coping normal winter temperatures. Maybe Canada, Northern Scandinavia including Northern Finland there's a small advantage...

Cost of beekeeping and poly nucs

Yes, it was gasoline on a fire. In Sweden the government immediately at Covid-19 outbreak spring 2020 in fear of economic slowdown supported the big companies with hundreds of billions, which they didn't need, they never even considered not to give dividends to the shareholders. So now ply has...

Man made v natural breeding and selection

We have a responsibility to new beekeepers (and there's a lot of them), because they are always confused. Even without threads like this. And the writing of Beesnaturally can't affect experienced beekeepers. But beginners can very well believe that you can treat, or not treat, monitor or not...

Man made v natural breeding and selection

I like to read a page or two in "Honey Farming" and I am sure most beekeepers, even experienced ones, has a lot to learn. He is a giant in beekeeping.

I suppose it is in one shot, like in Sweden. Otherwise it is torture

First: New Zealand, with a decisive leader in this virus crisis, has now 60 dead, Sweden, a comparable country in size and development, has over 16 000 deaths. Second: Brazil, with Bolsonaro, who refused to understand the nature of the "flu" as he always call it, has half a million, that is 500...

Man made v natural breeding and selection

Can't happen, because the mite is a parasite, so it's depending on not killing it's own host. It's only doing it just now, outside Asia, because it's not endemic here
