    They may be Ivy bees, they are really active at the moment. They could have emerged from the bare ground in the poly tunnel.

    The Food Programme

    The "bio-secure" disposal is the local scrap yard....it is not bio-secure! This where the crushed and unwashed drums go before being sold on. The scrap yard in the north of the county where they used to send the drums (before changing to the local scrappie) was also a disease hotspot.

    How to clean extraction equipment?

    Leaving equipment outside for the bees to clean is disgusting. May I suggest you go to BeeBase and read the Healthy Bee Plan 7th quarterly newsletter...and note the final section!
