    Puzzled Newbie

    2 swarms moved into the 2 bait hives in my garden 2 weeks ago. Today's inspection reveals one hive with HM starting to lay eggs. The other has no evidence of eggs or larvae(plenty of stores and pollen) but central comb has one sealed queen cell and 4 with developing larvae. Could a queen have...

    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    26c around here so I put some apiguard on 5 of the hives.Congratulating myself on a job well done and no stings to boot.Then as I was putting the equipment away I managed to spear my fingers on an uncapping fork. Hurt like hell I can tell you...but did I cry or complain?Just a bit...:rolleyes:

    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    On Saturday had fun capturing a nice swarm 25 feet up an oak tree.Health and safety police would have gone nuts as the easiest way to get at it was in the bucket of the farmers mechanical digger!One of those is now on my christmas wish list...
