    Weather

Same. Was really hoping for a decent amount of OSR this year as there is so much near my hives. What a shame.

    Cuckoos

Funnily enough I've just heard one for the first time in years.

    Weather

I had their kit as a student on farm placement. We had a difficult calving in a field in torrential rain. Out of me, the other student and the vet, I was dry - and not from lack of participation.

    Beekeeping suits

I have a Sheriff suit too... The Simon the Beekeeper ones are as good as the Apiarist one and I can't recall being stung through it. The Bee Pro looks very warm.

    Honey selling

I think the top is a couple of cm too wide for BS national so the frame will just slide down inside rather than resting along the top. Might still work...

    Honey selling

I'm meaning more in terms of a holder which can be used in a restaurant for people to help themselves to. Thanks though.

Resurrecting this thread... For those of you selling frames to hotels etc. who have it for guests to help themselves to, does anyone know where I might find a frame holder for this purpose which fits national shallow frames? TIA

So two standard CBs stacked back to back with extended depth rim with hinged entrance/exit section on the outer facing edge of each. Mesh over hole in CBs. When not needed in this form you can just use them as two separate CBs and replace the mesh with something else such as a rhombus escape to...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

To be fair if I'm using sugar I'd rather it a was grown in the UK with a small amount of neonics than without (thus spraying, potentially multiple times, with other pesticides) or grown elsewhere in the world with even less restrictions on pesticide use than here. Hopefully they eventually breed...

@simonwig thank you for the precise ID.

    Oil seed rape

Not for them to forage. For there to be an abundance of nectar. There is some produced at lower temps but it doesn't really 'flow' unless it's warm.

    Old discarded frames wanted...

    Just use some lemongrass oil.

    Beehive security

Bigger question is whether there's a better option. I'm doubtful.

Curious as to what these two might be. TIA

    Oil seed rape

I wonder if Finman's remarks about temperature affecting yield might be relevant here?
