Thanks everyone! I have that super as marked for the bees - so will put the QX in with the queen on the right side!!

Hi, Over the winter I left a super on one of my hives for food over the winter. I also fed them fondant when it was cold a few weeks ago but left the super in place. On checking them now it is warmer, there is brood in the super. Please can you tell me how I can rectify this? Thank you!!!!!

Thanks both. Sounds like a new queen and then treating the hives at the same time after the new queen has settled in would be the best option. Thank you! Vicky

Hi, I have some varroa treatment ready to go (Apivar Life) but one of my hives is trying to supercede the current queen. She is laying but not a lot. There are two really nice looking uncapped queen cells on different frames. Presumably I need to wait to treat that hive until the new queen...

So taking the feeding box off would help them at this stage even though not all 12 are drawn out? Will they still continue to draw out the remaining frames without the feeder?

Yes and lots of pollen coming in too.

They are in the hive. When I looked last weekend there was an empty frame at each side and a half filled frame next to that on one side no another empty frame in the other. There are 11 frames in total and they arrived on 6.

It looks like it may be a Paynes polynuc. I have an eke to go on it, so could use that to create space to feed them fondant and also to add some insulation. I will have to have a think about how I can close the feeder gap.... The entrance has an option with small holes that mice wouldn't be...

A few weeks ago there had been no eggs, larvae or brood in my colony for 6 weeks. I closed them up thinking they would be dead in a week or two because their numbers were so depleted. Yesterday I went to clear out the hive and was amazed to find 4 frames of bees with worker and some drone...

There are stores in some of them. Will they be okay in the garage in a brood box or do they need to be kept more carefully? Thanks
