Hi all. This is a question regarding hard plastic moulds. Some of my moulds, classic uprights and one round, sometimes the candles come out lovely, smooth and shiny and other times, matt, smudged and jumpy (vertical lines). I can't work out what causes that. Advise please!

Thanks for that. I'm a foreigner but you all knew what I meant. It's a lot less of a mouthful to say 'I see an erupted queen cell' than "I see there is a queen cell that a queen has vacated" ! 😉

You're right, found one that we somehow missed. Couldn't see the new queen yet but it makes sense now

Well we lost that swarm in the end, but the saga continues! We inspected the hive afterwards, shook every frame and found 2 capped Q cells, one looked damaged so removed it. Inspected the hive yesterday, that's 9 days later and saw the new queen and erupted CQC. Thought all was well but today...

I meant to say 2 supers. Although it was a split it was a new queen in the parent hive which already had a super. We added the other super at the end if May because it was filling up
