    Wasp Control

    I used to get quite a few wasps,but they seem to have declined quite a bit,maybe their colony was somewhere they have grown to be a niusance and they have been dealt with.

    neoprene and honey bees

    that gives me an idea for some old neoprene waders I was just gonna chuck in the bin,they have sprung a couple of leaks and they are useless,they might be ok for warmer weather when water is not as available to the bees,I'm sure I could knock something up.

    Activity due to weather?

    sounds like what was happening to me earlier today,there were probably a hundred (its hard to tell really)bees flying round the hive not going anywhere,we went to the supermarket for our weekly shop and when we came back it was back to normal

    I just did an inspection and I removed 6 queen cells,4 had a white sticky fluid in them(I take to be royal jelly)there were grubs in at least 2,I have been advised that it is too late in the year to split the hive.
