Headed back to the weather ,here ,it is howling rain.just moved the hive and replaced the queen (during a dry spell a few days back) all seems calm inside with my ear to it

Wouldnt recommend paradise honey , major design flaw is the locking lip between boxes, you cant clear the bees off it properly so end up crushing alot of them.

Must admit I have to agree , well considering I just found my queen dead on the new hives landing board .Everything looked normal and all .Will crack her open in a few days , see if theres a new queen running around there .

Finally got them all in their new hive! Getting them to clean up their old boxes now before I store them away.

I've tried out some poly feeders with no luck at all , decided to remove them , add an eke and place inside two of the smaller round feeders ,bees are taking it down lovely ,I think the warmth of the hive has kept the syrup at an ambient temp.The poly top feeder was so insulated I think it was...

Same ,got a nuc from them , bees are uber patient with me and have a nice temperament

Dont believe you have to use QE in any hive, probably easier though if your relatively new to it all like I am

Think Stewart Spinks from Norfolk honey is your man for that although hes paid to promote them I think!

Only regret is I dont have a wild banshee of a queen , shes a lovely docile buckfast ! Think I will acquire such a queen and place it on the boundary facing his patio!

Took swarm traps down as landlord not happy ! Will let them swarm and settle on his deck chairs instead 😉
