    Clean floors

looking at what you typed i see a contradiction; you say its a practice you have not heard of being done and dont want to hear again, then you say its foolish to repeat mistakes that have already been made, ponders some....... So a method you havent done and you have 'no' experience of and you...

    Queen Problem

tbh i wouldnt worry to much about the position of the hive, the only ones that may make a landing where the hive was would be the ones on the wing going back to the hive :) Anyway good knews you found the cause etc If theres any emergency messing about to do , now would be the last chance as...

    Queen Problem

Is your Queen marked? Anyway apart from your own suggestions, ive read here somewhere that treatments cause the queen to suspend egg laying for a short period of time, Maybe thats the reason, maybe possibly hoping im not making a foolish suggestion (puts on the flame retardent bee suit in case)

    Seriously Angry Bees

Personnally i think ben is being responsible seeking advice, Its always important to get on with neighbours etc using scare tactics like 'no defense in court' is rather worrying, There is always a defense in court and tbh for case to get there regardless of whether someone got stung and went...

    Recycling Deposit on Honey Jars

I ask them not to clean it, just in case they (with good intentions) put anything in it that could taint the jar, with honey residue at least i know whats been in it :)

    Recycling Deposit on Honey Jars

Ive toyed with this thought and yes i think 10p on a jar or maybe a deduction of the next purchase would be a good idea :)

    Clean floors

Yeah i can see where you are coming from but lets say out of 5 to 10k wing bees - a few hundred are propilising more often, i cant see much of a dramatic effect on forage in the hot months, except for one of my hives which propolise more than the others do maybe :)

    Clean floors

the sarcasm is strong in this one young padawan, if you recall i advised my fathers hives before he retired were varroa free, im actually awaiting my lab results

    Clean floors

If you say so, tbh im really open to what other beekeepers do and whether i think what they say is a waste of time i generally dont remark on it, Unless i have actually done it and didnt actually get on with it, but each to their own i guess, I dont remember atually saying its best practice...

    Clean floors

yep i know any preventative measures avail i will try -but treatment all done and testing underway atm, im using the empty hives my dad used before he stopped, but at £28.50 per floor (and the roller floor even more expensive) ill maybe get a couple next year for a couple of hives and build up...
