    Politics

Sargon is very good at deconstructing other people's arguments, challenging logical fallacies and confirmation bias, but he isn't without an agenda.

Seller want to use own labels

I'd have thought if you have processed it into jars, your name needs to be on it according to the law. Can anyone advise on that?

    Price of honey, (again!)

Then tell them to get stuffed. If you have a contract in place, just tell them to pay up and find another mug or face a CCJ.

    Essex Beekeepers Association Conference 2016

Only FIVE WEEKS until the Essex Beekeepers' Association annual conference. If you haven't booked, it's only £25 and couldn't be simpler to find, being near the A12, A13 and A406 at Barking and Dagenham College. And the date is a cinch –-it's the 5th of November. So, remember, remember to...

    Wanted: Honey from essex/london area

Looking for some honey from my local area to boost my stocks as not had a great year and I have a lot of regulars who only want high quality honey. If you have an excess, I'd be interested in up to 150lbs, preferably not high i rape content, but also looking for some rape for soft set, too...

    oxalic vaporiser in poly hive?

DO you know what level of respirator is required for this type of gas?

    Me again sorry.

I've used gaffer tape and it's worked well and the bees have left it alone. If you don't have aluminium tape, try that. Or you may find aluminium tape in some pound shops. I have a local independent cheapo shop and they have almost every type of tape for a quid (except copper and gaffer).

    smoker fuel and lighting

It probably burns slowly for being full of fire retardants, ie chemicals. Smells bad and my bees never liked cardboard in any case.

    smoker fuel and lighting

Cut back your lavender (good time to get a year's supply), dry it and use that. It burns nicely, is cooler than grass and the bees much prefer it to cardboard. It does produce tar, but it's manageable and it smells nice. Also, save orange or satsuma skins and pistachio shells.

    Great idea.

    Honey Extraction and Sales Records

The labels I use have consecutive numbers as lot numbers and I log each batch of jars based on apiary (if only one), year, and water content of batch. If I sell a bulk load of jars or take some to a fair, I record where they were sold. That way if I know a batch has gone funny, I will know...

    A Welsh Flow Hive Harvest

It's good to know they work. I always saw them as an interesting novelty perhaps for a bit of fun in the apiary and I'll keep an eye out for a second hand one, too. I'm sure there will be some second hand ones about as they were not sensibly marketed and once a few people who didn't get...
