I read somewhere that placing hives in horse shoe shape or in a circle is a good position for bees to be located at, but with 2 hives that is possible but hard:)) lol. try painting them totally different colors and like Poly Hive said stick a shape with colors on it.

i agree with Oliver90owner. if a few they'll get to it when they can. not to worry. but if it's bugging you give it a try, this is how experience is gathered. Good luck.

im new to all this i hope i can help. this plant if im not mistaken grows wild where i am, i know from this that it grows nicely at a high altitude, so i don't know how it my do for nectar at about sea level. but if it flowers it is a realy good nectar source. hope it helps.

I checked for AFB as you said, the match stick test, first of all,,, not much brood, guess cause no pollen yet the queen hasn't started laying, the queen is there, the match stick test came out fine though, i had enough time to clear the hive floor, i'll see how the bees react to that. Cheers

I opened the hive today, noticed a foul smell, seems like quite a few dead bees on hive floor and in between frames in 1 of my hives, aditionally i saw that the hive is still full of honey, the cluster i could see, there was a dotted apearence to the wax all over the hive, the honey in someparts...

Hiya,,, Im new... I see this kind of thing often here,,, what i figured was that where i had syrup dripped or spilt on thr ground even after drying out of the patch the bees still liked to lick it:) strange and funny,,, ay? guess that might be it.

In the area where i keep my bees, the honey flow has started,,, but not like previous years,,, the flow is weak,,, we have had rain wind and dust storms which didn't happen before,,, so not much honey is brought back by the bees and i cant tell when the flow ends,,, can anyone help me on...

honey purity I was wondering if anyone could help me on some advice on how to tell pure honey, from honey that has been fed syrups of some sort?
