    Hopguard

    Some of the testing was carried out here on our hives. It is an effective treatment. Hopguard 2 is now available. The difference is in the length of time that the product is active. Hives treated with the product look very healthy.

    Buckfast type bees are able to cope very well with a damp winter. After all they were developed in an area of very high rainfall. Caucasians are quite prone to nosema, so there might be a problem there.

    I have just received my first order given to Mann Lake UK. I very happy with their service, prices and shipping rates and time. As the items are within the EU, I can import them without VAT and import duty and messing around with the paperwork in claiming the VAT back.

    Paying European suppliers

    I used this as well. It saved me some cash that would have been taken by the parasitic bank. It was faster too. The only downside was that the bank here charged a few euros which wouldn't happen with a normal SEPA transfer. Yes a good method.
