    Abelo extractor problem?

I have the same model, now in its second year. Last week it started developing exactly the same clicking noise. It seems to be coming from the drive part of the motor. Please let me know what Abelo say!

Any ideas what is happening here?

I had one last year at an out apiary, so I was not there to witness the event. It was a relatively weak hive and I was considering requeening. I only noticed at the next inspection when there appeared to be a lot more bees and new brood. To start with I assumed that the queen has bucked up and...

    Whats with this cold weather

I currently have 4 hives that are (I earnestly hope) headed by virgin queens. If we don’t get some decent weather soon, we might well be drifting towards DLQ/DLW territory. Next week is looking better here (Wiltshire) but the spring crop is less than half what It was this time last year.

Hi does anyone own and use a Konigin extractor.

Looking back, I wish I had bought a 20 frame instead of a 12 - if only for the convenience of being able to extract two complete supers in one go.

    Move of Apiary..

Long story short. I'm having to move one of my apiaries about 800m tomorrow and have closed all hives down earlier this evening. Hives are poly 14x12s with mesh floors. Weather for the next 3 days is light rain, breezy and mild. Question: how long should I leave them closed up before...

    Bee-quick

I make my own (much cheaper) 80% pure ethanol, 10% benzaldehyde and 10% tea tree oil. Old crown board with some linen tacked to it. Clears a super in about 5 mins
