    What did you do in the 'workshop' today

    Havre you butt joint the rails? How are they fixed as it looks like you have screwed into the main plank of wood. I have done the same too but also fixed through the side into the rails.

    Temp here is just holding around 10C lots of bees flying, what a difference to you lot up north. Loads of trees in bloom.. Early this year compared to last.

    London temperatures

    Whilst warm I took the opportunity to feed those that needed it and I put feed directly on top of the cluster. Bets are it's a short warm spell, so I make the most of it.. I'm far down and short skip across the puddle South :D

    Spent today hefting and adding fondant on those that needed it. Looked under the hood briefly on some and the Bees are very busy and looking great, which is a relief for me this year! It's been a lovely day here on the island, lots of flowers for them to work, pollen coming in. Looking forward...

    My Plan is to work more effectively as time is always hard to find! Constantly thinking on the best way forward! Loads of boxes to steam and paint before the season gets started and even more to be put together, let alone frames and wax!! Expansion is also on my to do list this year, but first...

    Poly roofs

    I have wondered why we don't use roofs like in the Canadian blog video? Not necessarily with feeder hole but made to fit directly on top of Brood box with a lip each end. Sure in the states its the same. I might give it a go this year! I have black correx type sheets that I made about 30 roofs...

    I use national but not all one design of frame. Most are Hoffman but some are Manley and some are plastic spacers.

    Thanks BF great info. Does it take much to reset the knife? I do use different frames in supers but I could change this before the season starts I suppose. Also how does it sit above a tray to catch cappings, have you bolts fixing holes in the legs? Many thanks

    Repwoc that's it but was looking for video of it in action.. Think I found something similar on YouTube. Looks good infact. I have been looking at honey paw steam Uncapping but this looks far better.
