Yes, some colonies do, most don’t. Some chew the sponge bits and after 3-4 weeks you find the mesh outside the hive. In any case, I’d assume it’s mostly effective in the first 2-3 weeks, so generally before they heavily propolise or tear it apart.
Same here. From mid Aug onward, everything they bring (HB, Heather, Ivy a bit some years) is winter stores for them. As a result, I have to do very little feeding (this year as an example, just a couple of nucs).
More jarring & labelling. Honey selling like hot cakes. Delivered 60 jars to the local farmshop on Sat 6 days ago, they emailed today asking for more. 70 more will be delivered tomorrow 😁
They can threaten you all day long. Without proving you do use it, nothing more they can do. And (as in my case) if you don’t use it, no way they can prove otherwise.
‘Well-Being’ week at my place of work. I presented an hour talk about beekeeping. I first thought no one will join, but had just under 100 people (zoom). Lots of interest.
