Could be time to break out the shorts...

My preference is to follow Prince Charlie and go for Laphroiag 10 years old. Not to everyones taste of course - Charlie is what I mean!!

    Feeding in march

Rather than sticking lumps of fondant on at this time of year and with current weather pattern it might be better to remove a frame or two with nothing in them for ones from stock that have not yet been cleaned out with just enough to keep them going?

    To keep one amused

When I looked around I found a variety of Wordle offers, some of which do not accumulate any statistics and even seem to allow access to more that one puzzle a day. Looks like you have to choose the version you fancy most?

    First inspection of the year.

Spring is sprung, the grass is gris, I wonder where the birdies is etc etc. Hawthorn hedges round here are stirring into leaf so am optimistic that the new season will start soon so I can find the queens I want to mark & clip and maybe dispatch. Boom boom.

    Hardy girls

They fly because they know what they are doing and why they are doing it. Suggest you ask them if you speak their language?

    Double (national) brood vs. 14x12

Puzzled. You indicate in the left-hand column on this page that you have only two hives but four queens? Special bees?

Do most people use mouse guards or not?

Bought some when I started and never used them. threw them away eventually. I like getting rid of junk especially recyclable stuff.

Nucs for splits - very good. But please say where you are like others do as it likely yields better advice.

Just for some fun.... an excuse to smile.

For goodness sake use you imagination. My wife manages it quite well at 81 years of age so why not others.

How far should bait boxes be from a hive

Swarms won't be around for some time yet - late April/May/June. If you want another box of bees the best way would be to split the existing single colony when they have gained enough brood - say late May - and put some workers and brood and stores into a new box. The bees in which ever box has...

    30lb Plastic buckets

Round me most such buckets are being given away by a confectionary company who can't store all they use and probably also sell fondant. Marked clearly on the base that they are food grade Suggest you look around.
