    Here we go...

Great advice. The queen came marked and I spotted her when transferring the nuc to the hive. so shouldn't be tough to find later in the week. There's lots of activity but whilst I sat and starred this afternoon noticed no obvious pollen on the returning bees. Would they still be orienting or...

    Here we go...

Having waited to catch a passing swarm I gave it to my enthusiasm and yesterday collected a nuc from a supplier in Banbury. Firstly, and treading carefully so as to not raise the hackles of the ad police, they have been supremely helpful. Before, during and immediately after collection. So...

Great advice!! I will remove the supers to the garage and leave a blocked off crown board and roof in place. Cheers, Mark

Nope... it's ours... no horses. Chickens up the other end but they can't get to the bees.

    Deep breath... here goes!!

Well, having too'ed and froo'ed with the idea for 2 years, attending (almost all) of the local course the plunge has been taken! (Picture inserted here but removed 'cos I've not made 10 posts!) Our first and, as yet, unpopulated hive is at the bottom of the paddock (which is at the bottom of...
