    In my 3 years I have never had 4 supers on a hive at this time of the year, I currently have 3 hives that are now filling their 4th The OSR is now losing its colour and I think by end of next week it will of turned green. Question is do I return all 4 empty supers to the hives or just maybe 2...

    Agree, I would love to stay as we are without the virus.... my youngest has learned how to ride her bike and also got interested in the bees and now has a bee suit on order that will fit her.

    So my home apiary inspections did not go well. Hives 1&2 checked and both I have added a 3rd super to. Hive 3 not so good.... it's on double brood and is packed full of brood & bees and on 3 supers since last week and will soon need another. Went through top box and then on to the bottom box...

    I grew sweet potatoes in bags of compost last year they grew like triffids so had high Hope's..... got 2 average potatoes out of the 3 bags. Not growing this year...lol

    What a lovely day...... Have had to add another super to my home hives, They have found the OSR and piling in the nectar. I have loads of fruit trees in full blossom but not a bee on them due to this.

    Working from home has its advantages.... Can keep nipping out to my home hives when I need a break. 90% of them coming home with yellow faces so might need to add another super on Friday....

    Sorry not hijacking op but may be if use to him and to myself. After I shook my drone laying hive out today, I have 3 or 4 frames like in the pics. Is It best to melt these down of can they be reused in some way?

    Quick update: Shook out the drone laying colony in front of the other hives. By the time I had sorted out all the empty equipment allot were going into the other 3 hives.

    Looks like by the weekend the weather is picking up in temperatures...... just in time for the OSR uo the roac that is just yellowing up. Bees very active today bringing in lots of yellow pollen. Supers will be put on some hives at the weekend.

    Thornes opened up their sales prices online to sll without the postage. My order comes tomorrow but they have refunded for some bits I ordered due to selling out. They were running this until 31st March, maybe they have pretty much sold out of the sale stuff.
