    Age of grafted larve

    Thanks B+ So if I was to check on day 5 and any were sealed would that mean I grafted older larve? If so is it best to remove these or use them?

    So checked grafts after 24 hours and 10 of the 22 have taken. We chuffed with that for my first go.

    Tried my hand at grafting for the first time today. I didnt think it went too bad. Just hope I get some of the 22 to take. I found the grafting easier than i thought it would be. Will update at the end of the week.

    Heavy rain a morning here then the sun came out after lunch. Checked all 4 nucs that mated queens were added to in cages. All released and laying well. If all gos well that will take me from my original 2 hives to 12 in my first 3 years of beekeeping. Who said it is not addictive

    I have just been into one of my nucs to release a queen under an introduction cage for the last 5 days. Released fine and she's strolling around like she's been there years. I noticed where the brood hatched under the cage the whole lot is layed up with multiple eggs. Is this something normal...

    No all new queens into made up nucs. Made up some introduction cages as most say this is the best chance of getting them accepted.

    I have new queend in nucs that are under introduction cages. My plans are to go back into nucs in 3 days and check for QCs but then how long before removing the cage to release the queens? What do others do please?

    Delivered this morning, all 4 alive and well but 1 or 2 workers were dead stuck to the candy plug in a couple of them. All in nucs now.

    FYI: Consignments from Germany

    Yes I'm checking tracking it every hour or so.....lol So far landed in UK at Heathrow Thursday at 21.55. Then states left Heathrow at 00.58 this morning in transit on way to me. Thats all I've had. No show this afternoon so fingers crossed for tomorrow
