    Gasvap Modifications

This video by Bob Binnie talks of increased dosages of 7-8g with no adverse affects The whole series is really interesting, but dosage at 12:10 on the video for those short of time! Also talks of there being no feasible way for an over dosage to taint honey, and that this was the view of US...

    Gasvap Modifications

I use a gas vap, have a pocket full of caps for it. Fill them all brim full of OA - and then zap the hives one after another If I can, the empty cap is dropped off onto a puddle on one of the hives - usually a poly one...quick sizzle and it's cooled Either way they are cool enough to recharge or...

Ah memories! I bought my first bees from there.....nasty angry bees on ancient black comb that must have been 20 years old. Quite disgraceful that GBKA let them be sold.....the newby who bought them knew no better at the time.

Where do you get 8mm strips of wood?

Having just bought two 2.4m lengths of crappy pine for £11 from Homebase, the rims for each floor have cost me almost as much as the wood for the underfloor entrances!!! Should have asked the guy to cut an 8mm strip off the wood before he cut it for the floors! Note for next time!

Where do you get 8mm strips of wood?

Yes, lots of options for 4 or 6mm, and 10mm but one bee space is 8mm. The 9mm strips of pine are eyewateringly expensive! Or doesn't it matter that much?

    Drawing foundation in October

I have a hive where the queen was trapped above the QX for a couple of weeks. I was going to shake them all onto foundation and feed thin syrup to get them to draw out the foundation, then unite them with a QR colony. Instead spotted the queen and she laid up the super instead. I shook all the...
