I have been looking at the Ickowicz website for all things French beekeeping and noticed that they have some wax moulds in various sizes in copper for making blocks. Does anyone know where I can get these in the UK. I don't see them on the usual suppliers websites. Thanks

I saw these in the catalogue and thought they look like a great idea. Then I read Ted Hooper and he says not to get one as heating the honey bit will increase the HMF content. Now I am confused. Are they a good idea or not and do they really spoil the honey that is extracted from the cappings?

I bought my seven year old just a jacket like me as I dont wear overtrousers when beekeeping. Big mistake as he got stung through his jeans during an inspection one day. I would therefore recommend buying a full suit.

It was supersedure. The new queen has hatched and i just have to wait again for her to start laying. They were pretty cross when I went into look today. Still lots of capped brood, honey, pollen and some drone brood. No eggs though so I guess that is why they replaced a new laying queen but...

I did put a super on as they had drawn out 9 of the 11 frames in the brood box. There were quite a few bees in it last night but they are not drawing out comb in the super.
