    Moron of the day ....

He probably saw a load of these: https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/invertebrates/bees-and-wasps/ivy-bee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colletes_hederae and thought it was full of wasps.

    Hornet problem?

Non beekeepers trapping wasps might be taking part in this: https://www.bigwaspsurvey.org/ The organisers are very careful with their trap timing so as not to catch queens but only the left over wasps on their sugar feeding. As the hornet has a similar lifestyle to a wasp (I'll stand to be...

    Plastic foundation

I tried looking on line but the only company I could find was in Ireland and not currently shipping to the UK. Commercial Brood Plastic Foundation (10 Pack) for future reference when they sort the problem out. Only other solution is to go where most plastic items are produced and source...

    Dead Chicken

Technically through it wasn't leaving the rest. Just saving itself a whole lot of hassle. If it kills all the birds on night one, then goes back for another the following night there's not the hue and cry from the birds the second night and it can carry on this way until the coup is empty or the...

    any ideas what these are?

Or maybe populating nucs for sale or drawing new foundation in a nuc out to comb. At first I thought the frame parts look like the type of fame used for a glass crown board but that doesn't fit with the black part.

    Legal requirements for labels pls.

I'm surprised they like email as the 'Hotmail' type of address is so easy to set up you can have a new one in five minutes. Sure one with your own domain might be a bit more exclusive and easier to attach to you. Perhaps a postcode would be acceptable?

What's flowering as forage in your area

Rosebay and the balsam is making an appearance so it's nearly time for the annual NRW "we're spraying this or that river bank" email.

    black nitrile gloves

Not seen a black suit anywhere, you got any sales links? The other problem with a black suit, at least in this sunny weather is it would make it very hot inside and a white suit is bad enough on that score.

    sugar price

Ah, I thought the lunar wobble was what you got after consuming too much scrumpy, especially in Somerset. :laughing-smiley-014

Nuc and kielers stolen in South Shropshire.

One possible way would be to lay a roof down upside down, stack the honey supers in it and put another roof on top. You now have a sealed block you can strap up. If there's bees trapped in them it will only be for a short while. Could be heavy though. Or you could use solid crown boards, just...

    sugar price

So can I blame the EU then for banning the use of Neonicotinoid dressing on sugar beet seeds which has resulted in lots of beet crops being destroyed by cabbage flea beetle and the farmers having to use far more toxic (to all insect life in a field) sprayed pesticide to combat them?

How to remove propolis from gloves?

I'm surprised no one has suggested some sort of liquid (denatured alcohol perhaps) to dissolve the propolis off to make an antiseptic tincture. It seems quite popular in some circles as a substance to put on small cuts to aid healing. Or added to food for dubious health benefits...

Art or Firewood ? Be honest ...

How about something intended for dolls houses such as this one? https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Naturra-Miniature-Ceiling-Lighting-Battery/dp/B093QCD9TB/ref=sr_1_2_sspa? Small switches can be found using the key word 'Arduino'...

    Fondant sources

Bako may be a good source too. BAKO Group Limited: Bakery Suppliers, wholesale bakery ingredients, catering suppliers and food service Although they tend to be wholesale. There's probably a branch near you.

    Other apiary in proximity

I wouldn't worry about it there's loads of forage around, although there's less flowering crops as the main mono culture is grass to feed to animals.

Art or Firewood ? Be honest ...

How about a small rotary or push switch attached inside of the urchin end of the finial? So you twist or push the finial to switch it on and off. The light might show up the shadow of the switches and wires though.

Competition for nectar with native bees

Ask them what their extermination policy for the Tree bumble bee is? After all it's an invasive species so stealing nectar from our native bees.

    Label suppliers -

I think the law's intention there is you can't call 'honey with royal jelly' just 'Honey'. You have to add the 'with royal jelly' bit to the description. Then it's fine to sell.

Accepting credit / debit card payments for Honey.

If the printer setup is anything like the one that's attached to the old Paypal Here card reader system, there was a way round it. The printers used are thermal ones and you can buy these from china traders cheaply on EBay, it needs a blue tooth connection, you then have to configure them in a...
