    Wax moth infestation.

Ive searched old posts but cant find a specific answer to my problem. Firstly im holding my hands up at my own stupidity. I had four supers that came off the hives for extraction. I have been extremely busy and thought i could store them in my very warm conservatory till i had time to extract...

My neighbour came over to say there were thousands of bees in his workshop/garage. I quickly went over to investigate, thinking how why what could i have missed a swarm. They were wasps.

    Apitraz placement on DB

Hello all i would appreciate any advice please. Since having buckies ive moved to double brood. When using apitraz (later in season just thinking ahead) do you use 4 strips over both boxes or is it just two still? Cheers everyone.

    Queenless still

I had nearly the identical thing happen to me at nearly the same time frame bar a week earlier. i gave 2 test frames a week apart, nothing. I waited and waited watching a full double brood hive get smaller and smaller. I have just had to introduce a new purchased queen. I also had advice to...

Robbing of old honey comb (fermentation)

This thread is close to helping me answer a question. When recombining AS back into an original hive thats on double brood, what do you do with the spare brood box with frames of partial uncapped honey and pollen. Is freezing the only way to not waste their work?

    Crushed Queen in July

I may be wrong but i assumed the OP had opened up some space between frames plus some taken out for a good photo of his problem.

    dead brood identify reason

I left a vq six weeks to get going with no results so had to buy one in theyre doing well now but it depleted my numbers in that hive waiting and have had to take frames of bias from other hives to support them. Such a shame as she was a lovely large queen.

Congrats and welcome. Get ready for a ride of highs and lows. Just when you are chuffed you did something right the bees will show you whose actually in charge. I couldnt stop watching mine when i started but try not to open them up unless you have a reason to. And as im a relative newbee myself...

    Air freshener unite

Ive got some hives i split as AS earlier in the year. Could you advise on when to unite them back. As these AS raised their own queens im still watching them getting going with brood and pattern and am unsure when or if theyre slowing down. I realize we are still in july with more forage...

    Noob with nuc - queenless?

Ive got light hives here also and live in a part of england that has better than average weather. Popping some 1:1 syrup on to help them draw out comb surely wont hurt. They wont take it if they dont need it.
