    Data leak

If you can remember all your passwords they are probably not strong enough!

    Data leak

I totally agree. I use a password generator/safe for all my accounts (I have 150+!). I have no idea what any of them is, I always use the password safe and change important ones periodically.

    Rain

That's the thing about showers, you either get the full drenching or nothing at all. Yesterday we didn't get a drop but others nearby had flash floods! (Latitude escaped too :))

Feeding in Winter while away from the country

Absolutely, in fact in my opinion, that is the only way to go. I don't feed my bees at all (except in emergency situations).

    Rain

My offspring and grand-offspring are camping at "Latitude" ATM (Southwold, Suffolk). It is forecast to be severe-thunderstorm-central tonight and tommorow. :(

    Planning ahead...winter feed, or not?

Yes. I take the surplus honey and leave ~20kg in each hive (there is usually about 10kg still in there in April, which I extract with the spring harvest). Any brood gets moved down below the stores.

    HONEY YIELDS

    Who is confusing? You said,

    HONEY YIELDS

Not true. You can display both. The metric weight has to be in a larger font than the imperial. Plus lots of customers still refer to lbs and oz, as do forum members... Edit: This makes no sense now after the edit above.

    How to add more frames...

With foundationlees frames the bees draw exactly the correct number of drone cells and no more or less.

    Remove entrance block during flow?

Just to complete the set.. I leave entrance blocks in all year

    Planning ahead...winter feed, or not?

I cannot answer your question directly because I do not use conventional hives, with deep brood boxes, QEs and shallow supers, so I have no experience. However if you use one size of box throughout the hive, it is a piece of cake. The brood nest shrinks back down and frames are shifted into the...

    Winter feeding

I had no idea there were so many different ways to feed fondant; You can slap some on... whack some on.. or plonk some on... or just add some.

    Price of honey

I don't think an underhand policy of "shrinkflation" is the way to go. The customers will see through it and it insults their intelligence. Ask Toblerone how it went for them!

Feeding Bees – Syrup, Fondant, or ???

There is another option - don't feed routinely. Leave enough honey in the hive to last all winter. Monitor stores by weighing the hive periodically. Only feed if they are in danger of starving, which they won't if you leave enough.

Hives dead & dying: what reasons, what to do?

Have you not inspected since mid-June? Have you performed an alcohol wash to test for Varroa and not just casually looked in the hive? Are the Qs present and laying?

Buckfast F2 .... are they as bad as I'm reading about on the web??

Actually, Finnie is making total sense. It's strange how some profess that AMM, for example, no longer exist and all that remains is "mongrels". At the same time they claim Buckfast (or some other strain) to be some kind of master race, even though they only ever were mongrels.
