    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    Another swarm today. 6th swarm on same property! 10 frame box with only 3 frames in.... I ran out.... Bad management I think! Cut strips of ply and lay on top hoping that if they build, i can at least salvage/save comb... Have done this before,,,, what a mess!

    Just checked up on newly caught swarm. I'm always amazed at how hard these girls work.... 3 days in and they have already cut the elastic bands holding salvaged comb and busy with house keeping.... I often see the bands laying on the floor but was chuffed to catch this and share with you Island...

    I can relate to that.... I have run out of Brood/Supers & frames..... Timber standing and staring at me every day....:(

    Too Hot to do anything... 39 deg C.... Everyone has supers (Im told) BUT somehow I have run out of frames???? This is what happens when you steel one here and one there for trap and/or bait hives... Of course Im too blame.... Wont talk about the broken ones I toss to one side.... It's terrible...

    Thanks for reply,,,,, However! This confused me even more, especially after reading ironing into fabric.... ??? a wrap ironed in fabric? Then I googled bees wax food wrap///// never heard of it until now..... I thought you guy were............... never mind ! Just sounds kinda crazy now...

    A fair distance away in Cape Town, residents have taken it upon themselves to start feeding wild Baboons... Big issues now, robbing and destroying homes, killing pets etc etc etc... These are very dangerous animals and should be left alone... Regarding the burnt vail,,,, we all have our moment...

    I usually see two or 3 eggs in cells, even stuck to the side wall.... Whats stands out most is the scattered drone brood,,, I believe some workers frantically try and remove eggs being layed by workers but simply cant keep up, this results in the scattered brood... This one in particular...
