    Asian Hornet in Exeter?

Guess what? I missed it! I forgot all about it and went off to Sainsbugs and to get my hair cut. Still, a mini version is on the BBC web page. Dusty

    Asian Hornet in Exeter?

Hi chaps and chapesses, There's a brief bit on BBC tomorrow morning - Saturday 21st - about the threat of the Asian Hornet. BBC1 at, I'm told, 8:50 and 9:50. Also on the BBC News Channel. Dusty.

    Who should I vote for.

I'm sure the Book of Revelation says that the end of all things will come with the sound of the Last Trump. Dusty.

Is a standard brood box big enough-typically

A standard brood box is indeed too small. Most colonies will be happy in a 14 x12 box in summer; it's also the right size for overwintering. The only down side is the weight. But it's always wise to inspect with someone else around. Dusty

Fame at last! (or "How we all laughed!")

Look, Jenkinsbrynmair, any more cheek and I'll reveal to the Forum the story you told me at the Convention: about you, the geisha girl, the egg-whisk, a certain specialist item of leather-wear and a large tub of Angel Delight! Anyhow I don't need to associate with riff-raff; I've just been...

Fame at last! (or "How we all laughed!")

. Forum members might like to have a good Bank Holiday laugh, by viewing the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3Wc787hgt4 The "interesting" part starts about 36'20" into the programme. It was filmed on an (inevitable) cold and wet day in March. Our fame spreads wider and wider...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Ok, a slightly extended tale - but one which might be of interest to, particularly, newer beeks. I look after 4 hives on the roof of Manchester Cathedral. Last year I had two hives with green queens, one with blue (Hive A) The fourth hive (C ) became aggressive - and contractors replacing the...

    Smoker

I add a teaspoonful of incense grains. Don't know if the bees are affected by it, but it makes me feel mellow! Dusty

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Errrmmm. Excuse me! Has anyone seen how Kazmcc has updated her information? I just want to point out to the sub-committee comprising JBM, Redwood, ericA and chaired by the aforementioned Kazmcc, that I still claim ownership of this hive. And we will so exactly what I decide. Which is, to do...
