    Early unite

That's interesting. The impication being it's her quality or lack of it casuign the slow build up? I'd assumed they were small just now 'cos they went into the winter small.

    Early unite

I've two colonies I want to unite this spring. One grew huge last year on a queen from an early walk away split, she's huge and an ugly mottled browm/black. Unfortuantely they became increasingly unfriendly. It was my first experience with such a large coloney and producitve queen so I thought...

I put a cardboard tube up last year and caught two (though one stayed less than 72hours and had gone before I hived it :cautious: ). I put it on top of a bay window. https://beekeepingforum.co.uk/threads/what-did-you-do-in-the-workshop-today.21943/page-131#post-761379

Your going to think I'm Randy in disguise but does this model talk to a similar theory: http://chickabuzz.com/model.html

Latest snake-oil varroa treatment pretending not to be a varroa treatment

Yes, from memory he speculated it was passge over the towels that was the crucial step vs the removal of the matrix thorugh the coloney that was a key mode of action. His later work was on cellulose sponges (which I think are more similar to the Abelo product). I think I might make my own though...

The writing on them makes me think they are actually manufactured in eastern europe somewhere. Abelo I'm guessing just import and re-sell.

This an image form his trial. Though the Abelo's strips lend themselves to being hung over the top bars. So yes, it is different. But maybe more like a vaccine injected in the leg rather than the arm?

Latest snake-oil varroa treatment pretending not to be a varroa treatment

Thank's Boston, Last year attitudes here to the strips seemed more neutral - as Dani hints. Is the view forming here that it's the Abelo formulation or that Randy's findings shouldn't be generalised? I'll definately let you know my intial figures. Neil

mmm, and you have just underlined it - very clever and ta very much (as they say in yorkshire) ;) . I have also: parked on double yellow lines; used a human generic of a topical vetinary medicine on a cat (and vice versa); had *** in a public place (though not recently sadly); fished...

And this his teaser from his newletter I subscribe to. ABJ asks me to wait for two months after publication to post, so...
