How many first year beeks quit?

The only time I used MAQS I lost the queen - I don't think it is fair to blame 'weak queens' for the loss when using any treatment. Appreciate that other people have had different experiences to me, but once bitten twice shy.

    Hello from the High Peak

Sure. Should do well in Chapel, but my season timings are more akin to central Scotland than Cheshire due to the altitude and climate.

    Hello from the High Peak

Just outside Glossop, but I've got some hives at Chinley so not far from you.

Buoyant roadside honey sales since lockdown

I can buy that as 'not pre-packaged' as you are essentially selling it loose and it is not feasible to label. But surely if it is already in jars and handed to a customer then it is 'pre-packaged'. Or am I missing something?

Buoyant roadside honey sales since lockdown

I've been using Freeman & Harding - even the smaller packs are quite good value, with a wide selection of lid colour/patterns and a fairly small minimum order for free delivery. Always have come pretty quickly. Prices shown on the website are without the BBKA discount - create an account and...

    Foundationless Frames

Pretty similar to my experience, although I use a tongue depressor instead of a wax starter strip. I intermingle (not necessarily alternately) with foundation or drawn comb and never had a problem with the bees drawing it at angles. I string thin fishing line 2 or 3 times across the frame and...

Buoyant roadside honey sales since lockdown

Not tested that locally as I've always used hex, but they do pack together tighter than the rounds. Almost like the bees know something...
