    Moving my hive

Hi All, So I moved house a month ago, still access to the empty old house where my hive is at the moment. I've read up on moving the hive - distance, do it at night, all that stuff. Went up there this evening, tried to seal off the entrance and it didn't seal properly. Well they were MAD...

    Bees under mesh floor

Thank you, that's the exact hive I have too, so maybe it's a problem with that design. It does seem the mesh floor came away giving the bees a back door. Will replace tacks with staples i think!

    Bees under mesh floor

Amazing thank you! There was no brood in the comb, I did check that. I had spotted the queen inside the hive before I relocated the downstairs lot, so I'm hoping there wasn't a second queen under there! I'll have a look at my mesh floor to make sure there's no holes. Many thanks!

    Have I made a mistake?

Thanks for your reply! I do realise they have no idea of revenge :) ... Though the thought of them being mad at me and setting 'Home Alone' style traps does make me chuckle! I'm sure they're fine, they just spent less time on the front of the hive before I put this guard in. Thanks again! :)

    Have I made a mistake?

Hi everyone, This is my first year of my hive, and it's been really flourishing. I've been recently having problems with wasps - as have everyone! - so I got a wasp guard door, closing the entrance right down to try and stop them coming in. Since then my girls have been really busy on the...
